Pictures entered incorrectly

Pictures entered incorrectly

I have a website where the public can add a picture to a record.

Sometimes a picture is entered so that it shows the picture 90 degrees from its correct position.
I wondered if there is any way to prevent this.
The latest example can be seen at http://boatsforsalenow.com/Boats_by_Category/boats_results4.php?Category1=Fishing%20Working%20Boats.
Any ideas please?
Many thanks

John

I think this is fixed in the latest version. If you give me FTP access, a sample image to upload, and a url to test with I can update the files to get it fixed.

It is because the image is actually rotated when taken and mobile phones will automatically rotate for viewing without actually changing the image. Then when it is uploaded it needs to be adjusted to display correctly on the web.

"I can update the files to get it fixed"
I'm not sure if you mean you can rotate the image or if you mean to amend the image software files.
I can download and amend the images OK but was wondering if I can get the software files to place the images correctly automatically?

Amend the upload files to detect and automatically rotate.

What is the page that you used to insert the image?

You had an older version of webassist/file_manipulation/helperphp.php.

I updated it to the latest version, please try again and it should automatically rotate images based on their orientation.

Thanks Ray
The image did not rotate but stayed as it was, 90 degree out of the correct position.

It will only rotate newly uploaded images. Did you upload it again and it wasn't rotated? Please attach a copy of the image to a reply to this post and I'll do some testing with it.
