Powerstore install

I am currently installing Powerstore 4 and stuck in the installation wizard...

I get the error message "This page isn’t working
localhost is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500"

I entered the database information as:

Server/Host name - localhost
Database: ldproject (my empty database)

And then the user id and password...

Suggestions?

thanks

If you send me FTP information and a URL to debug I can debug it for you and figure out the problem. 500 is a general error. It might be that you didn't upload a file, or it could be a security or permissions issue. I really can't say unless I tested the files directly.

Ray - I did not set up a remote ftp testing server so the Powerstore files reside only in my local wwwroot folder.

I planned on using a local testing server to build the store...I followed the installation instructions and copied the Powerstore folder to the wwwroot folder for use in Dreamweaver.

I then opened a browser and navigated to "http://localhost/LD Project - New/powerstore" to begin the install....the database I entered resides on my local PC and after entering this info is when I received the error 500...

Should I only be installing Powerstore on the live server on the hosting provider's site and use that as my testing server?

Thanks

It should work on your localhost as well, but it is difficult for me to debug there. What version of php do you have installed? You will need a version prior to php v7 and you will need to have included mysql components in the php.ini file.

Just checked - php is at version 7.1.1...

Is that the problem? If so - hwo do I download and install a previous version?

Thanks

Ray - I unstalled php 7.1.1 and installed 5.3.28...

Powerstore then installed correctly on my local server...

thanks

ray - powerstore completed its install....

I did notice when I go into Dreamweaver it installed everything in the Powerstore folder....should that have been the root folder?

I'm concerned when I eventually do go live and move it to the production server I will have incorrect links - I do not want to have a powerstore folder on the live server...

thanks

The links are all relative, so you should be able to move it to any folder.
