SPAM eMail

Hello,

I am not sure why but the form I have created is sending or someone is using it to send emails (SPAM) to my email. Since yesterday I go over 50 emails from different IP addresses with fake names, emails and nothing in the email body. I am attaching the one of the emails for you to examine. I have scaned for malware and the site is clean.

It looks like an email from the site (design and formatting I have design) but is not send from the site. I am tracking the site and there is no visitors to the page in order to send this email from the site. It is a robo-spam ...

I hope you will be able to suggest a fix.

Best regards,

Kamen

Please attach a copy of the page that sends the email and I can take a look and suggest how to prevent bots from using it. Have you added CAPTCHA?

Hi Ray,

The copy of the page is attached. It is one page website (http://wwww.coperscottdesign.com) and I have a similar page for the store (http://wwww.coperscottdesign.com/store) as well. I am attaching the main page only.

I don't think this email is generated from the page itself.

Thank you.

Kamen

An email couldn't be generated with the files without using the page itself. You aren't using server validation to validate the CAPTCHA, so it can be ignored and emails will be sent. I think adding server validation and validating the CAPTCHA on this page will solve your issue.

Yes i do. You can check yourself. I do have a tracking code on the page and if anyone goes to the page it is showing in my tracking with their IP address. Yesterday was only i hit and it was me checking the page and the SPAM activities.

I just have sent an email from the website and I am attaching the NORMAL email and the SPAM email screen shots so you can see they are different and they look very similar aw well.

They are the same. They are both being sent from that page. The best solution is to validate the CAPTCHA.

Hi Ray,

Thank you for checking this for me. I am following your tutorial how to validate the CAPTCHA (http://www.webassist.com/help/Form-Toolkit/form_toolkit_validations_captcha.html), but I don't have/I don't see a session for the captcha_Security_Code entry at all. As a matter of fact i don't see any variables. Am I missing something here?

This is what I got at the moment as "Validation Show if":

<?php
if (ValidatedField('index','index')) {
if ((strpos((",".ValidatedField("index","index").","), "," . "4" . ",") !== false || "4" == "")) {
if (!(false)) {
?>
<span class="serverInvalidState" id="Security_Answer_ServerError">Incorrect
response; please try again</span>
<?php //WAFV_Conditional index.php index(4:)
}
}
}?>
