show if like

I want to show a region IF the Membership type is VIP OR VIP Plus, Do not show if VIP is not included in the membership_type column.
I am using this for exact match <?php if ($row_WADAtbl_directorylistings['membership_type'] = "VIP") { ?>
Is this correct for like and will it enuse that VIP is entered in the membership_type column?
<?php if ($row_WADAtbl_directorylistings['membership_type'] LIKE "%VIP%") { ?>

If you are using the LIKE keyword to check for VIP and VIP Plus then VIP would return both. If the column containing the membership type can only equal VIP or VIP Plus then use

<?php if ($row_WADAtbl_directorylistings['membership_type'] == "VIP") {
code to run
}?>

or

<?php if ($row_WADAtbl_directorylistings['membership_type'] == "VIP Plus") {
code to run
}?>

You could also modify this with an IF ELSE if there are only 2 possible membership types

LIKE is not a valid comparison in php. That is for MySQL. This would work:

php:
<?php if (strpos($row_WADAtbl_directorylistings['membership_type'],"VIP") !== false) { ?>
