unsetting a session

unsetting a session

Hey Ray

On the attached page, I have it so that if the user changes their password successfully, they get a message shown to them on line 348

The message stays from that point on.

So, I added a clear session (line 548 commented out) which did as expected except the success message never shows.

What do I need to do to show the success message but then clear it once the user does something else on the page?

Cheers

Put the clear session code in the IF statement after displaying the error message to ensure that it is displayed once and only once.

Try adding this after line 190:

php:
<?php

if (isset($_POST["Update"]) || isset($_POST["Update_x"])) {
  die();
}
?>

Some servers will continue processing the code on a page after a redirect which could be your issue. This will stop the code below from running after an update so that the session shouldn't be cleared until after it is actually shown.
