Is it possible to create folders within the root directory for file uploads in Power CMS?

My client has so many files uploaded after 5 years. It is getting quite difficult to manage. Is there a way to create new folders and put the files in them? This process would also need to change the path to those files.

I see I can make a folder on the server but it doesn't really do me any good unless I want to do all this moving manually. I'd also have to change the paths manually.

thank you,
Laura

It would be possible to add logic that would for instance create a new folder every year and use that new folder by default. Moving the old files to new folders would be more complicated than doing that moving forward.

Both would require hand coding of the php code. This is something we could help with in a premier support ticket.

Thanks Ray. I can see how I can make a new folder myself. It looks like then we'd just upload to that folder instead of the root. I think I'll make a folder each year for each of my clients. That should be very helpful. There are also many files they could eliminate from the root if they just go in and take a look at them. For instance, they add a new agenda each month but only one agenda displays on the website. All the others are old. They should get them off the server anyway and stop wasting all that space.

Thanks for your help.
