Search feature not working...

Search feature not working...

My search function isn't actually searching. It's just displaying product results (whatever was the last product results that I queried). It doesn't display what I'm searching for. I'm entering in the SKU or keyword. Is that not going to be found with the search feature?

Is it only going to search the description? And if that's so (I hope not!) - shouldn't it display "nothing found" or something like that?

This is the URL that it takes me to when entering in the product item ID as the search query (which is "TR081RBK" without quotes)

mydomain.com/Products_Results.php?S_ProductName=TR081RBK&Search.x=50&Search.y=8

(obviously mydomain.com is where my site's domain name would be, that's not actually the url)

Is that not what it's supposed to be?

My URL looks like this:
mydomain.com/Products_Results.php?Search=Search&S_ProductName=noproduct

and returns:

Product List
No results for your search

The forum put in an extra space above. The product I searched for was noproduct not n oproduct.

I just did a test searching for the SKU number and it found an existing one just fine and said "No results for your search" for a non-existing SKU.

Okay, so how do I get my search form to utilize the URL that yours is? And why is yours different anyways? I didn't change anything (at least, not directly with "searching". Not to my knowledge anyway)

Thanks!

Here's the php in my products_results page that has to do with searching. I think I copied all of it. Do you see something wrong with this? If you think I'm missing part of it, I'll just upload my whole products results page. Perhaps I should do that anyways?

I found this reference:
"when you get the product search result error by applying the template in powerstore to a newly created page this is what you get. "

Not sure if this applies to you.

This is what I have (unmodified):

<div id="searchBox">
<form id="searchForm" method="get" action="Products_Results.php" >
<input name="Search" type="submit" value="Search" id="Search" alt="Search" />
<input type="text" name="S_ProductName" id="S_ProductName" />
</form>
</div>

I don't think this applies to me, since I'm not receiving any error.

Also your form is the same as mine. (the inputs are just reversed but that shouldn't matter). Although I will try to reverse them back.

Making my form identical to what you have doesn't do anything different.

My problem must lie with the php code in the products_results page. I'm going to open the powerstore archive file and compare the default file with the one I'm using (although there shouldn't be anything different on this part of the file, anything is possible).

I've compared my products_results page and the one that came in the powerstore v2 archive, and they are exactly the same.

So I don't know what's wrong.

I also tried your URL that you say you get when you do a search, and that DOES work for me. So how do I get my search function to use that syntax instead of whatever it's doing for me. I can't find where that's defined.
