DataAssist pages lacking CRUD functionality

DataAssist pages lacking functionality

I've created basic admin search, results, detail, update and insert pages using the Wizard.

The results page has only links to the details page and a 'delete record' trash can (no pencil - though it's there in the preview). Does the pencil link to the update page? Can this be added later or do I have to recreate the page. If the page has to be recreated, which one has the pencil? It looks like they all do, but not sure why it's not showing up. Do you have to create the update page at the same time? This is a problem in that DW crashes each time I've tried to create more than one page at a time.

The detail page has only a delete record button. Shouldn't it have a button that links to the Update page?

There are no buttons that link to the Update or Insert pages. How do you get to them?

The update page shows only blank text fields. Shouldn't this contain the text from the detail page?

On the insert page, there are no file upload buttons, so client can update the database and also upload image or pdf files to the server. Is this not possible?

I had problems creating the pages due to multiple wizard crashes, and had to create some of the pages independently. Could this be the reason they don't work together?

If you create the pages running the wizard separately it won't know the page names or if they exist at all, so it won't add links to them. You could add the links manually to the results page. They are just simple button links. The pencil should link to the update page.

You should be able to specify the field type as a file upload field when running the wizard to create the upload capability.

You can adjust the ORDER to order by any column you want on the results page in the wizard or after running it by re-opening the recordset.

Creating all the pages at the same time has never worked in the wizard. Dreamweaver crashes constantly when creating more than on page at a time. I've tried all the fixes, but haven't found a solution.

Adding the links after shouldn't be difficult and may be the best solution for you at this point. You can also manually add the file upload field and use the Upload File server behavior to transfer it to the server on the insert and update pages.
