Tutorial for Free Shipping for >= $x.xx

I thought there was already a tutorial for this, but I can't seem to find it. I know I need to make a shipping rule with the Subtotal of Entire Cart Contents >="My Discount Trigger Amount", but I'm unclear as to what the calculations should be set to in order to give the customer free shipping.

Wherever you have a charge for shipping just add a condition to the rule so that it doesn't charge if the amount is high enough.

Click the plus button and add a new condition based on the subtotal being less than the break point where shipping is free.

Thanks, I get that part. I think I'm not explaining my question properly. I think I understand how to trigger the free shipping, but what are the settings in the calculation that actually makes the shipping free?

You add the trigger to the existing shipping so that it won't be charged if the free requirement is met. You don't actually have a free shipping rule. If the existing shipping isn't charged, then it is free.
