email extensions

I've seen http://www.webassist.com/forums/posts.php?id=37242

One person has a .menu email address and the site wouldn't allow this. Having carried out the first part on the page above, the address can now be added (I couldn't find any instances of the other code in the entire site - perhaps the extension has been updated since then).

However, when that address is the recipient of an enquiry on the attached page, the email doesn't work - all others do.

Is there a global fix available?

Many thanks

Chris

The issue is either in: /webassist/form_validations/wavt_scripts_php.php or /webassist/email/mailformatting_php.php

If you send me a copy of those two files I can take a look and tell you where the correction needs to be made.

(you probably have to remove lines 218-220 of the mailformatting file)

Thanks Ray - that seems to have sorted it!

Will I need to manually add all these new domains, e.g. .technology, .photography etc etc?

No, removing that line stops the check for "known domains" since that list is too large and growing too fast to keep up with these days.

Hi Ray

This has arisen again, with someone using a .club extension

When they enter the address on a contact form, they get an 'invalid address' error.

The fix you previously mentioned is still in place.

Cheers
Chris

It seems to work in my local test. What email address are you using? I may need FTP access and a URL to debug this live if I can't get it to happen here.
