Server validation based on dropdown select value?

Hi all,
I have a dropdown in my page that is populated by a recordset.
The recordset filters a table and contains 3 fields: id, name, start_date, end_date.
The dropdown select "selects" the id field and has name as label.

This is the dropdown:
label: name 1 - value 1
label: name 2 - value 2
label: name 3 - value 3

The full filtered recordset is this:
row1: 1, name 1, 2016-07-21, 2016-07-22
row2: 2, name 2, 2016-07-20, 2016-07-22
row3: 3, name 3, 2016-07-19, 2016-07-22

Now I would like to validate the start_date and the end_date against another date field in my form.

Example:
the user select name 2 from dropdown and inserts 2016-07-19 in another field. Validation should fail.
the user select name 2 from dropdown and inserts 2016-07-21 in another field. Validation should success.

How can I do with DA?
TIA

tony

You would need custom javascript to parse the selected value to get the parts an then validate them. I could help with that in a premier support ticket. You can't do it directly with DA.
