CS3 not responding suddenly

CS3 not responding suddenly

I was working away in the middle of a form, with universal email open, dw Edit open, when suddenly DW stopped responding. This has happened before with out of memory errors etc.
When this happened not only was i not able to get DW back, but i was unable to get my entire machine back.

This is the usual scenario i face though when i attempt to use universal email.

Although i have had some success with the help of tech support on a few issues, i'd say that the probability now of my being able to use successfully the UE extension is getting smaller and smaller each time, and the risk to the work i am doing greater and greater. I've done the cache .dat removal thing enough times i can do it in my sleep. I have scanned my machine for virus and malware and i am fairly sure some sort of virus is not a culprit here, because it always checks out alright.

When i cold start the machine the display is always in recovery mode, which may be a clue to why it always gets the memory corrupted in a certain place, but i am not clever enough to figure it out from there...

I have a windows xp system which in all other instances does not behave badly. It's an HP Pavilion Laptop, and perhaps it runs out of memory on its own. When it crashed yesterday it was only using 48-52% cpu ( DW3).

So is there another solution for emailing a form that web assist offers, if so that is where i am headed next.

We do have another tool that will allow you send out a form, it is the contact form Solution Pack.

The problem you are describing seems unusual. Have you tried creating an email page and in the body just insert a simple test message, no form or other info? This is a test you should make to see if it is the type of message body you are attempting to create that is part of the problem.

As a potential solution you can try deleting your config folder to have DW recreate it for you. Here is a link to a thread post that discusses how to do this:

been there...

i've also done the part about removing the configuration folder, twice. since i have to reinstall the mxp files after that, its not a good solution since the problem is ongoing after having done that already...
and the problem is not one where testing to see if i get an email or not gives more clues as to why it hangs WHILE OPERATING within the dwEdit area.
perhaps if i can use the other tab, instead of dwEdit tab, and put into place the proper code that might mean something is corrupt with dwEdit itself...?
i have the solution pack, so i guess i could try to learn how to use that... o well.

The test that I'm suggesting you do is not to create a new message and see if it is sent but to see if you can add anything to the body of the message using the edit with DW button. If you can add in some simple text as a test and get through using the server behavior then it may indicate an issue with the form that is being used. If the result is the same please let me know and I can open a ticket for you so that this issue can get resolved.
