How do I add substr to my results page

I'm trying to control how much copy is displayed on my blog results page. I'm trying to add

<?php echo substr(($row_AskAni['Answer']),0,50); ?>

To the end of an existing echo WA_getCMSContent code. I'm not getting it to work. Can you help?

Here is exactly where I'm trying to implement it:

<div id="answer"><h2><?php
include('/homepages/13/d537074277/htdocs/gcs-2014/WA_CMS/addtosite.php');
echo WA_getCMSContent($database_PowerCMSConnection, $PowerCMSConnection, 'AskAni', 'Answer', false, $row_AskAni['ContentPageSetOrder'] );
?></h2></div>

I want to limit how much content is displayed on this page.

That should be built in, just add the length as a final argument like:
echo WA_getCMSContent($database_PowerCMSConnection, $PowerCMSConnection, 'AskAni', 'Answer', false, $row_AskAni['ContentPageSetOrder'],50);

I knew it was easy, I just couldn't remember it. Thanks a lot Ray!
