SESSION LOGOUT AFTER 30MINS OF INACTIVE

I have security assist pages. Currently once after login unless browser isn't closed user doesn't log out. How can we add such a session that after 30 mins of inactive activity in pages the user must be logged out.
And does this make website slow if we add it? & How do we add this?

Sessions should timeout after 20 minutes automatically. What is your session time limit set to in your php.ini file?

There are some exceptions and caveats... look at this post on the topic, it may help:

No it is not. It usually isn't necessary since a server will drop sessions automatically after 20 minutes. But you can just add the chunk of code suggested to the top of each page in an include file to make sure it happens more consistently. The fact that it isn't clearing may be a sign of an issue on the server itself clearing the folder where the sessions are stored. You may want to ask your hosting provider to confirm session files are being cleared regularly.

Sometimes, if that is what the issue is. It depends on how your server is set up and what is allowed. I'd ask your hosting provider.
