emptying db with cron

Am trying to set up a cron which empties a database and then restores from a file

Have come up with

mysql -u USERNAME -PASSWORD DBNAME > /usr/bin/php /home/domain/public_html/dump.sql

Not sure why I cant get this to work as a cron?

Does it work when you run it manually? I'm not an expert on creating a cron. Hopefully someone else from the community can help.

managed to get it working finally. turns out the /usr/bin/php is not needed unless you are running a php script in your cron.

so if anyone else tries to achieve this, this is is what I have had to use:

mysql -u USERNAME -'PASSWORD' DBNAME < /home/domain/public_html/dump.sql
