General RE: MySQLi

1) - Is there any way MySQLi Server Behaviors could work with another app (i.e., not Dreamweaver; I have in mind Pinegrow Web Designer, or any project-built site)?
2) - Is Query Builder part of the tool, or a separate purchase?
3) - I have Data Bridge. Am I correct in assuming that it will no longer work properly unless I get MySQLi Server Behaviors?

1) No it is a dreamweaver extension, but you can use the code produced by it in another tool
2) It is included with the mySQLi server behaviors
3) No, DataBridge runs separately and doesn't use MySQLi yet

RE: DataBridge and MySQL (ve MySQLi)

Thanks, Ray. . . . I am a bit confused by answer #3. Could it be that DataBridge is still relying on MySQL (instead of MySQLi) connections/protocol? Indeed, MySQL was deprecated 5 years ago, and is not supported at all in PHP 7. When I consider the feature set of DataBridge, it seems its functionality would have to depend on one or the other. If it's using MySQL, what is your schedule for converting to a newer standard (you say it " doesn't use MySQLi yet")? (And will I have to buy another version?) And in the meantime, could the MySQLi extension's code be used in DataBridge?
Thanks.

DataBridge still uses MySQL and not MySQLi connections. MySQL was deprecated in php 5.5 less than two years ago, and will likely be supported for the next 5-10 years. We will be updating DataBridge to use MySQLi in the next major release (version 2.x) and it will be a paid for update. The MySQLi extension code can be used on any php pages even side by side with MySQL functionality.
