Data Assist Search server behavior not returning results

Data Assist Search server behavior not returning results

I've applied the Data Assist search behavior to an existing page, but it returns no data. It looks like the ProdID isn't being passed to the URL.

Files are attached: index.php and Prod2Details.php are the search and results pages.

Thanks

Is there a size limitation on file uploads? I had to move items out of the site to upload.

Thanks

On your index page you have a text field for search and a submit button, but your submit button also has an <a> tag with an href around it. I'm not sure what you are trying to do with that.

The details page doesn't have any code that refers to the search field on it at all. It looks like it would only filter by a ProdID url parameter. Are users expected to enter a product id into that search field?

I need to understand what you are trying to do before I can comment on how to fix it.

I'm trying to create a search text field so customer can search by product number, name, type, etc. with a results page and details page.

Used the WA Search server behavior first, but had to modify it to use the existing Bootstrap text field and submit button.

Yes, I was trying to pass the search form via URL Param using a manual results page to make sure it would work. Next I tried to create the pages using Data Assist pages but the wizard has crashed DW three times in a row (another forum post).

Thanks

Can I see a copy of the results page.

I think you need to remove the <a> tag from your search button and have it submit to your results page.

Then the results page should have the DataAssist Search server behavior applied to filter the results and those results would link into the details page passing the URL parameter.

The results page should have been in the attachment.

The only reason I was trying this manually is because the DA 'Create Pages' wizard crashed repeatedly. However, I've tried several iterations manually with no progress, so I'd rather go back to the wizard.

The wizards are confusing to me on configuring and how to implement when and where. Is there a tutorial I haven't found?

Do you have a solution to the crashes?

Thanks

Your form action is set to: action="Prod2Detail.php"

You need your search form to submit directly to the results page so it can show results.

I don't have a solution for the crashing. A couple of users have reported the problem recently, but I've yet to find a solution. Any solution will require a pretty major update to our Extension itself, so I won't be able to do it in the forum with simple advice.

When the wizard crashes it should retain the settings. Perhaps you could get it to run without crashing with an existing preset to help you understand the workflow.
