Voucher with specific value

Voucher with specific value

Hi Guys, does a recipe or any docs exist to help me with the below.

I have created a table to hold voucher codes and their associated values.

Lets assume for arguments sake that the cart total is $100 and the voucher value is $50

Is it possible to have the cart deduct 50 from 100

I was thinking of creating a session holding the voucher amount and using this session in a discount rule. Am I on the right track here?

If I am, I am unsure how to handle the checkout if the cart total ends up at ZERO to pay. Any help would be great.

I understand that I will need to write some code to handle the left over 50 on the voucher.

If the total ends up zero then you could skip the payment entirely.

It does make sense to save the voucher amount in the session and use a discount rule from there.

This is probably something best fit for a premier support ticket.
