Query -> Results Set -> Detail Page and back to the Results Set

I am just getting started with the MySQLi server behaviours having previously used Data Bridge.

I want a three page hierarchy Query page -> Results Set listing -> Detail Page

I want to be able to move back to the results page from the detail page using the original results set - what is going to be the best way to achieve this ?

Thanks, Dave

How are you generating the result set? You may want to store the result querystring in the session so you can return to it.

So on the results page you could add this to the top:

<?php
@session_start();
$_SESSION['lastResultsLink'] = $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'];
?>

Then you can use the session variable as your link back to the most recent results page.

<a href="<?php echo(isset($_SESSION['lastResultsLink'])?$_SESSION['lastResultsLink']:"resultspage.php"); ?>">back to results</a>

Hi Ray, thanks for the guidance.

The idea is to have a multi text field form which I'll use with QueryBuilder to create the query. Currently I am just using a simple (hard coded) query to produce the results set.

If you have any further suggestions as to how to best achieve this would be much appreciated.

My hard coded query should return the whole database (about 1700 records). One the results page I am showing 4 records at a time with a Next and Previous (MySQLi behaviours) link. However I appear to be paging through a much smaller set of records (maybe 50) than the 1700 that I was expecting. Any thoughts ?

Cheers, Dave

I think the technique I suggested will work. If you need help, we could work through it with you in a premier support ticket.
