Shipping Bands

Hi All,

I pretty sure that this has been answered ages ago, but can't seem to locate it.

I want to set up three (possibly 4) shipping bands rather than on a country by country basis, like this:

  1. UK
  2. EU
  3. Rest of Europe
  4. Rest of the World

Is there a reasonably quick way to do this?

TIA
Andrew

You could create a table in your database to hold the shipping amounts based on region and then add the a recordset to look up the correct shipping in the checkout process.

Thanks Ray!

I thought that might be the case!

Hi Ray,

Specifically, which page needs this Recordset lookup? I'm slightly confused by the anatomy!!

Best wishes

Minimally the confirm_cart page, since that is the page the shipping form submits to. If you have the users state already somehow (forced login) you may also want it on the cart page itself.

Hi Ray,

This is proving to be more problematic than I thought because of the eCart integration the checkout - I think I'd like a bit more info/support. Should I purchase a priority support ticket, or can you explain it via message?

Am ok with the recordsets etc, it's just a question of exactly where they should go!

The easiest way would be a premier ticket. The recordset would go minimally on the confirm_cart.php page, but may also go on the cart.php page if you already have enough information to calculate it. Sign up for a premier ticket and I'm sure we can get it resolved quickly.

Thanks Ray, I'll organise the premier ticket now!
