How can I modify the css on a pre-designed DataAssist template?

This question may appear to be a simple one t resolve; however, I am experiencing difficulty in my attempt to modify the css to change the way the template appears on the web. I used one of DataAssist's templates to create admin pages to maintain our company's blog articles. The template I chose provided a very narrow design for the insert and update pages. Ideally, I would like to widen the form field and TextArea boxes so I have more room to review and, if necessary, update or insert data.

In my attempt to modify the template's appearance, I went into the css file for the template and attempted to modify the width for the form and the large textarea boxes. When I uploaded the css file (with changes) to my web server, the changes did not reflect. IIs there something I'm missing here?

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

NOTE - see attached file in question.

I'd try using Firebug to determine the correct css lines to update. If you provide a URL and a precise description of what you are trying to change exactly I can take a look and use Firebug to guide you to what line number(s) to update.
