redirect user from html to php page

I need to redirect a user from from www.domain.com/login to www.domain.com/login.php How can I do this? My customer has www.domain.com/login as the link from their site and the IT says it will be a couple weeks before they can edit the script.

hi there.

so long as there isnt another file/page with 'login' as a name then it *should* automatically go through to the login.php page.

For example, if you go to www.motley.co.uk/contact it automatically takes you through to the contact.php page without having the .php extension actually used in the url

if that isnt sufficient for your needs, then you would need to look at using a .htaccess file and setting up a redirect rule

Thank you Jamie for the note. I updated my initial ticket and I don't think you got it.

I wrote this script in html and it woks <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="1;url=https://designmysilpada.com/temporary_close.php> But the original URL looks like this domain.com/login?userEmail=xxx@xxx.com&userPassword=xxxx I need to read the initial html URL variables to temporary variables and then include those in the URL I am forwarding. The final url I would like to forward woudl look something like this <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="1;url=https://xxxxx.com/temporary_close.php?userEmail=xxx&userPassword=xxx> where the xxx behind the URL variables will be the original URL variables passed.

I'd use a mod-rewrite in your .htaccess file instead of doing it with code on the page... that would allow you to do pattern matching and forward the variables you need to.
