Not getting connection to Authorize.net

Not getting connection to Authorize.net

I am using Authorize.net to process my payments. The credentials I have in gateways.php is identical to another site I have. However, when I check out I am getting checkout_failure.php and Authorize.net is not seeing any attempted payment. My site is a private site, so I will put the credentials in the private message.

Add this code to the body of the checkout failure page:

<?php
var_dump($_SESSION);
?>

That will show you more information about the error including an error description and code that could shed light on why it isn't working. View source for better readability.

If you can't figure it out from there, post the returned code (from the source view) into the private area (since it will include your credentials) and I can try to see if I can spot the problem.

I am not sure what I have here. Please see PM for the failure response.

The key part of the error at the end is: ":Line item 1 is invalid."

I looked into that and I see you had encoded double quotes in the name and description fields: &quot;

Authorize.net will not allow the ampersand character in the name or description fields.... I was able to resolve the issue by replacing the &quot; with '"' in the authorize.net include file so that they are passed in decoded.

I see where you edited the code in the AuthNet_PHP.php page. But now when I click the continue button on the checkout.php page to enter my CC information, only the option to change the Bill To and Ship To displays. The confirm.php is not displaying on the page as it was earlier.

You added a <form> tag to the top of your template that wasn't closed. That was breaking the html and javascript and caused the page to not function properly.

I removed it and it is working again.
