Automatic Monthly Emails

Hi:

I’m developing a Cloud program that would need to send users an email at a predetermined date of the month every month. Does Webassist have any extension to do that?

I presently have DataAsssist, which I think comprises Universal Email, but I also have Universal Email separately.

Thank you for your attention.

You could use Universal Email to create the email you want from a web page. Then you could use a cron job from your server to call that web page once a month automatically.

a) Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, my hosting server is Windows-based, which doesn't support Cron Jobs. Any other suggestion about this?

b) Another question would be, how can the program send an automatic email notifying the company’s administration whenever a user submits a specific form? In other words, how can a form “Submit” button trigger an email sent to the administrator?

Does Universal Email allow for that?

Thank you for your attention.

a) there is no way to schedule a monthly event without CRON... a substitute would be, if you know a page will be viewed at least once a day, you can have it check to see if a month has passed and then send the email. It won't be "automatic" since someone will have to access the page that sends it, but it may appear automatic if the website volume is significant.

b) Yes, universal email is designed to do exactly this... Just apply the "Send Email Message" server behavior on the page and fill in the email details.

I'll try your suggestion "b"
