Can't get user authentification to work

I have tried to apply user authetication following the tutorial by Kate so that I can protect a folder and its sub-folders and files but when I try it I get an error

Notice: Undefined variable: rsPasswords in D:\xampp\htdocs\priory_database_3\gateway\terrier\terrier_index.php on line 10
Fatal error: Call to a member function getColumnVal() on null in D:\xampp\htdocs\priory_database_3\gateway\terrier\terrier_index.php on line 10

The file in question is attached as is the database.

(Apologies if this is a duplicate request - had a comms problem!!).

You want to filter with the values from the submitted form... you have it set to try to look up the logged in user from the recordset on the page. Go back into the user authentication server behavior and make sure you are using the form elements to find the logged in user based on the username and password field... you shouldn't have a value for the index field.

Thanks Ray. OK now. Simple when you know how!!

I presume I have to apply Restrict Access to Page to every page, not just the top level? And if I want to have more than one user then each has to have their own Restrict Access behaviour applied to the page.

You would apply restrict access to each page you want restricted. You can set up a single rule to allow more than one user, so you wouldn't apply restrict access more than once, you would just set up your restrict access rule to allow in the users or groups you want to have access.
