paypal not passing phone

I have gone through all the comments here i could find and updated code as I found it but still can not capture the phone number at all when processed from paypal express.

Also, when i am in the store manager, view orders, view details,... if i click on "send Receipt" i get a bunch of erroros (see attachment)

You can configure your paypal account to send back the phone number. It won't by default. You can update that from the seller's profile.

You can find this under 'Website Preferences' in your PayPal account's profile.

I'd have to look at the page referenced in the errors to debug it. If you send me those pages I'll take a look.

Hi Ray

Thanks - i did find a thread that said to turn that on and tried - still no go. - have a look at the users profile and order information - no phone. also will not show on the order notification or receipt that is send to me -

For the update order error - if there is no phone number in the client profile, it will not send the "shipped notification". see link in PM

This might be an issue with Sandbox... maybe try a live transaction and see if the phone number is included then. I can see it isn't getting passed back from paypal currently and if the setting is correct in the seller's profile then it should be including it. It is very possible that the sandbox ignores this setting and that is the only problem.

That makes sense - I cant see anywhere else that has that code that needed to be updated so i will give that a try.

On another note - for your info, I found that i could only test 1 purchase through sandbox on 1 credit card. every other time I tried, it would reject my credit card unless I quit the browser, relaunch, clear history and cache and try again - worked only sometimes to allow me to test again. frustrating but i am sure this is a sandbox issue too.

Yes, I've given up on sandbox... When I do paypal integration I just do it live for small amounts and refund the transactions since they refund all fees as well and sandbox is difficult.

thanks Ray, i had to do the same. Got almost everything working in sandbox, went live and spent untold hours trying to figure out why things stopped working - subtle code changes but was hell.

On a side note - if people are getting payment processing errors - double check the product listings titles - there are certain words that PayPal blocks as potential spoofing - fought "Limited Edition" for hours.. finally figuring out that was the issue

Phone numbers are now pulling ok.
