CMS

I have an issue where I've created a "add a page" section using the template function in P-CMS. The link works fine but sometimes when the link is selected the only thing that show is a message "select the edit button to edit content". The actual content isn't showing up. However, if I login to the CMS select that area to edit it and select submit the page shows up fine again.

Is there a reason why this would be happening?

I can't think of why that would happen. Do you have a url and steps to reproduce so I can see?

It seems to be working consistently for me. Maybe you made an update?

Actually I had to go into the CMS and re-enter the URL so that it worked. This has always been a short term fix eventually it will go back to posting the most recent entry. The one thing that I did notice is that the URL seems to be changing every time I go back into the cms. Sometimes the developer's notes say to add this: ?messages=1

When the client contacts me to let me know that it isn't working again I notice that the developer's notes says to add this: ?messages=1001

So it seems that the original ?messages=1 isn't valid anymore.

I see. Yes... this is because of the drag-drop re-ordering system we added into your CMS.

Since the links depend on the index of the content, and re-ordering changes the index, re-ordering breaks the static links you have made to the content.

I think we will have to find a better fix for you to make links work "permanently" regardless of re-ordering. Can you send me FTP information and I'll suggest a solution after I do a little testing.

I've updated the admin to give you a new method to link to the products that will be more permanent and doesn't depend on the order.

Great, so which link should my client use? I see there are two options now.

Use the second one without the number. That way if they re-order it will still work.
