Paypal Pro UK

I have previously created 2 ecommerce sites using Paypal Website Payments standard, but am now looking to utilise Paypal Website Payments Pro and am having a little difficulty.

i have a sandbox business account with an API signature

I have gone through the wizard and created my pages, and on checkout, pressing either the paypal checkout or standard checkout buttons, i am redirected to the failed transaction pages.

i added the payment response bindings to both pages, but i get 'invalid vendor account'

in my sandbox setup, i have API username, API password and API Signature.

how do these fields correspond to my USER VENDOR and PASSWORD fields in my confirm page ?

Craig,

you need a Pro account which costs £20 per month, the API only allows you to use Express Checkout I believe.

Hi Dave, thanks for the reply.

I am doing all of this in the sandbox, all i want to do i s configure everything for testing, so if i get a request for a paypal payments pro gateway , i know i can set it up

In my sandbox account i have set up my api credentials, do i need anything else ?

Craig,

I don't use the sandbox testing environment, sorry.

I have a Pro Account myself and use that for my testing and just refund any purchases straight away. I have just finished a PayPal Pro site myself in the last couple of days and it works well.

Craig,

The user and vendor information comes from your sign-up to a Pro account as far as I am aware the API stuff is for express checkout which can be used with a standard business PayPal account.

In fact a quick google search leads me to believe that there is no sandbox facility for testing UK PayPal Pro.

sandbox for UK

After spending about 2 hours on the paypal site, it appears there IS a way to integrate paypal payments pro into a UK sandbox account, it's just that none of the ways in which they tell you is possible actually work.

Webassist ecart isn't on their list of integrated shopping carts, and I keep going round in circles, or getting directed to help guides.

It seems to me that if you aren't in US, get to the back of the queue!

If anyone in the UK has got a sandbox account working with paypal website payments pro, i'd love to hear how you did it.

I'm sure you've already found this through Google, but just in case, see the last message on page one of this thread:

As for how the USER VENDOR and PASSWORD fields correspond to the API Credentials, make sure you are requesting PayFlow Pro API Credentials from PayPal. See the following post:

Thanks Jason.

I found a more recent thread than the one you posted from Paypal MTS, (which doesn't work for me as it will not accept my login when attempting to create an sandbox payments pro account).

for the record, the url is...
std_adp.php?p_faqid=738&p_created=1232537554&p_sid=oPse6RGj&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPSZwX3NvcnRfYnk9JnBfZ3JpZHNvcnQ9JnBfcm93X2NudD00MTcsNDE3JnBfcHJvZHM9JnBfY2F0cz0mcF9wdj0mcF9jdj0mcF9zZWFyY2hfdHlwZT1hbnN3ZXJzLnNlYXJjaF9ubCZwX3BhZ2U9MQ**&p_li=&p_topview=1

thanks for the second link, this page too seems to have been changed since the posting.

I have made an enquiry through paypal mts, let's see what happens next !

Update

I have received an update from Paypal regarding Sandbox Website Payments Pro (WPP) for the UK, and in spite of some information to the contrary, I am told that Sandbox WPP is not supported for UK accounts.

With this in mind, i created a US account in the sandbox and went through the eCart checkout wizard for WPP US.

It seems i can process a fast paypal checkout, but a credit card payment fails.

I looked at the 'how to debug a failed transaction' but when i try to add a payment response binding, I can't find one for website payments pro (US)
