General Capability for free items

I have to quote a store for a client. It's for education institutions ordering forms. They don't have to pay for anything on the site. I can make items FREE, correct?

Can we restrict the site to only specific clients?

The admin of the site needs to print out weekly inventory reports and order reports. Is this possible from the C-Panel?

The site I'm trying to mimic capabilities is in the PM

Yes, you can use a "no payment" option with eCart to store orders without ever collecting money.

You can also use Security Assist to require login and restrict access to specific clients based on a user group.

Inventory reports should be easy enough as well just querying against the orders and orderDetails tables and displaying the results based on a date range.

No Payment Option

Hi Ray,
I'm looking through the settings. Do you mean making the Gateway set to None? Where else would I make it a non payment site?

I'm referring to the Payments tab in the checkout wizard (screenshot attached)

Store

So by turning that payment provider to none it will allow you to still add items to a cart, set shipping and submit?

Also I see where you can get your month to month revenue charts. If I need to print out orders and monthly inventory where can I find that? Looking everywhere. Do I need to turn to the databases and export?

I want to make this easy for my client... THANKS!

Yes, turning payment gateway to none will only stop the transfer of money, it will not limit any other functionality.

You would have to do a query against the orders in the database and create a page to display that. You could of course do it directly from the database as well.

Query

I tried the Query and it only shows me the last few sales from this month. Any way of viewing past months?

What about viewing inventory to see what's running low?

I think the orders results page only shows 10-15 by default per page with pagination.

You would probably have to create a new page to show all orders at once. You could do that by copying the existing page and editing it to suit your needs.

To view items low in inventory you can go to the products search page and do a search based on number in stock.
