Where can I find all of my WA saved settings?

Where can I find all of my WA saved settings?

I had my operating disk crash, I have a back up Time Machine.

What I need to do is recover the user settings that I have created for each of my extensions. I think they're xml files aren't they? Where can I find them so I can look on my time machine? I haven't exported them, so need to find where they are installed and hopefully restore them.

Thanks.

They will be in your users configuration folder. I'd just restore the entire Dreamweaver user configuration folder and that will be all of your installed extensions as well as the presets and settings.

Didn't work! I copied the whole folder over and DW just renamed it and created an new configuration default folder!

In the old original configuration folder, there are all of my xml files -- one for each setting. Can I import these into each relevant extension? Will this work? It'll take time to do, but at least my settings are thereof it's possible. I'm not sure if the xml file is enough by itself though, so I don't want to go ahead and do it just in case I destroy DW in the process!

Thanks so far Ray.

Yes, you can just copy over the xml files to the new configuration folder and they should show up.

Hi Ray, I am having trouble with this. I was hoping to be able to import the XML files in the rescued configuration folder with the preset manager, but it isn't working. It's telling me I haven't selected a valid DataBridge application preset.

Where exactly can I find the original presets in the configuration folder that I'd created for DataAssist's Application Type and Page Design menus? Am I able to import these via the preset manager.

Thanks again.

You have to export from the preset manager in order to import from it. Since you didn't do that, you should be able to just copy and paste the xml files from the old configuration folder into the new one manually and don't use the preset manager at this point. There may also be folders and files named from the preset that you would have to copy over as well.
