How to change text colour of PHP echo depending on value

I have an html table displaying data from a database and on a particular column I would like to change the text or cell colour depending on its value

the values in the DB table column are 'Active' 'On hold' 'Closed'

Help please!

You can add a conditional css attribute with php like:

php:
<div class="<?php echo($row_Recordset1['status']=='Active'?'activeClass':''); ?><?php echo($row_Recordset1['status']=='On hold'?'holdClass':''); ?><?php echo($row_Recordset1['status']=='Closed'?'closedClass':''); ?>">here is my text</div>

This way you will have three classes assigned to the text based on the value in that column and those three classes can have different styles including color.
