multiple items in cart not working correctly

Re add to cart on order pages: http://bandofhonor.com/bracelets_aluminum.php and http://bandofhonor.com/bracelets_stainless.php

We are having a problem with customers ordering multiple items that are similar. When a customer adds items to the cart, then hits continue shopping and then tries to add more items with the same color, size and logo, but different 3-line inscriptions, the cart just adds more quantity to the items already in the cart.

Here is an example of an order the customer was trying to make:

LOGO “F” ON THE RIGHT
NO LOGO ON THE LEFT

10 BLUE 7”
10 BLACK 7”
1 STAINLESS STEEL 6 ½” (21 TOTAL)
POLICE OFFICER NICK LEE, SERIAL NO. 34980
LAPD HOLLYWOOD AREA
END OF WATCH MARCH 7, 2014

1 BLACK 7” (1 TOTAL)
DETECTIVE BRIAN FREDERICK ORCHARD
SPOKANE POLICE DEPARTMENT
END OF WATCH JULY 20, 1983

1 BLUE 7” (1 TOTAL)
POLICE OFFICER SHAUN R. DIAMOND
POMONA POLICE DEPARTMENT
END OF WATCH OCTOBER 29, 2014

And here is a screenshot of what the cart looked like: (see attachment)

Update the shopping cart object and check the box "unique" for the inscription column. Any cart columns marked "unique" will be checked to make sure they match when determining when to increment quantity or add a new line item.

Lines 2 and 3 of the inscriptions are not "required" as they can have a 1- or 2- line inscription if they choose. Will marking them as unique mess that up?

No... the unique attribute is only used to determine when to increment quantity or add as a new line.

So now I need to upload boh_json.php & boh_php.php? Anything else?

That should do it... really just the cart not the _json needs to be uploaded.
