Moving remote checkout local

Moving remote checkout local

My client is using Authorize.Net and wants to move from her current remote checkout to local checkout. The shopping cart was built with eCart 4 and updated with 5, I think. Is there anyway to adapt what I have now or would it be best to archive all the checkout pages and start fresh? Also, are there any advantages in eCart 6 that would make the process easier?

Thanks - Joe

Archiving the checkout page and starting fresh would be best.

There are no advantages to eCart 6 that will make this particular task easier.

Thanks, Jason. I've been trying to go over the documentation but can't get it to load locally via Help > WebAssist > eCart > Documentation. The browsers are now blocking because of the Flash content evidently. Is there a URL where I can access eCart 5 docs?

Nevermind - I was able to open it by browsing to the home.htm page and clicking Show.

Heres a PDF Help doc for eCart 4

and an online help doc for eCart 5:

Jason, I've hit a snag. When I try to insert the Display Manager into a new tempalte page (first step before running the Checkout Wizard, right?), I'm getting the following error:

While executing timer in WA eCart DisplayMgr.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:

At line 79 of file "Macintosh HD:Users:josephlowery:Library:Application Support:Adobe:Dreamweaver CS6:en_US:Configuration:Shared:WebAssist:eCart:WA eCart Shared.js":
wa.pickDLL is not a function

What should I do?

Sounds like a compatibility issue with eCart 5 being installed along side newer versions of Data Bridge and Design Extender. To fix an issue with activation in the newer DW CC platform, we had to completely rework the activation system, this was not done for eCart 5.

I would rename the users configuration folder, then open DW to recreate it. then in the extension manager, only install eCart 5.

Okay, did that. When I tried to activate the new installation of eCart, I get the green check mark, but then, when I click Activate, I get "Unexpected error 14."

What do I do?

In the private message section, send me the serial number you are using, the MAC Address for the active network card and your email address, i can generate the license.data file for you and send that t your email.

to find the MAC Address:
1) Open System Preferances
2) Go To Network
3) in the list of connections, select the active one, and click the advanced button
4) Go to the Ethernet tab and note the Ethernet ID

I was able to get it running by clicking Reset Activations. Should we still proceed with generating a new license.data file?

No need if you have it working.
