cs6 for mac configuration and mamp

new to mac/mamp used dwcs6/xammp on windows,


what the best way to install/configure cs6 and mamp?
what will site definitionbe?? the more details you can supply will help

Afully detailed installation/configurationn crib sheet would be the perfect solution ...... hers hoping

installing mamp is pretty strait forward, download the installer form here:
http://www.mamp.info/en/

if you are familiar with XAMPP on windows, it's not really that different.

in XAMPP, it would create the site root as:
c:\xampp\htdocs

which mapped to the site address:
http://localhost

for each DW site you would create a subfolder of:
c:\xampp\htdocs

for example
c:\xampp\htdocs\site1

and adjust the web URL appropriatly:
http://localhost/site1


Same strategey applies with MAMP, the only difference is where the htdocs folder gets created.

in MAMP, the htdocs folder gets treated at:
Applications:Mamp;htdocs

create the subfolder for the site there:
Applications:Mamp;htdocs:site1

and the same web URL will link to it:
http://localhost/site1

folooed directions by using the browse button to navigate to correct site files


noticed this put in / not the ; : indicated on your reply
could these prevent file to be displayed in safari directly or preview in browser --server cannot be found

if ispecify localhost:8888/sitname1/index.php it works when entering directly into bbrowsoer

hoow can i get rid of the 8888

in MAMP, go to the presences and select the ports tab to change the port used by Apache.
