How can I have USPS shipping costs increase as additional items are added to the cart?

How can I have USPS shipping costs increase as additional items are added to the cart?

Currently the checkout shows the same USPS rate regardless of how many items are in the cart. I need the cost to increase per USPS rates for either additional items or weight - however USPS calculates their rate.

Thanks

In the USPS Shipping server behavior, on the package settings tab. How do you have the package set up?

One package for the entire order?

or one package for each item?

Can you send a screen shot of the shipping package settings please.

How do I access the USPS Shipping server behavior?

it should be on the confirm page.

open the Server Behaviors panel, and the confirm page. there should be a USPS Shipping server behavior in the list, double click it to edit the settings.

One package for the entire order is selected. Should it be one package per item purchased?

You are using the first class mail shipping type, this is a flat rate up to 13 oz:

What should I be using?

thats a bit like asking how to cook a steak. The answer will change depending on the cut and your preference for temperature.

the point is, if you use the first class shipping type, it is only valid for up to 13 oz. over 13 oz.s it will fail.

if you are going to use First Class, you will probably need to have a package for each item ordered.

otherwise, if you want to have one package for the entire order, you will need to use one of the other shipping types. see the USPS site for details on the shipping types and their limitations.
