Can I add Universal Email to an Existing Cart Object?

Can I add Universal Email to an Existing Cart Object?

I installed ecart and created a site prior to purchasing and installing Universal Email. Is there a way to add the email functionality to the existing site without redoing the payment wizard?

Thanks.

depending on the gateway you are using, Yes.

If you are using one of the local Payment gateways like PayPal Payments pro, you can add the Universal Email behavior to the confirm page.

On the To tab, click the lightning bolt next to the email address, expand the session collection and select the WA_eCart_CheckoutForm_Email session variable.

When creating the email body, go to Insert -> eCart -> Cart Display Manager. for the cart display type, select email friendly.

When I do this I just get a cart that is in the webpage itself - it does not get added to the email body

In the Universal Email wizard, go to tthe body tab and clickthe DW Edit button.

this will open a new Dreamweaver template page for you to design the email. Place your cursor in the Blue Editable region Box, then go to Insert -> WebAssist -> eCart -> Cart Display Manager.

This will add the display Manger to the email body. Go to File -> Save to save your changes and get back to the Universal Email wizard. Then click OK to apply it.

UE functionality with PayPal Payments Standard?

Hi Jason
I have the UE extension. My client is using PayPal Payments Standard. How can I use UE to send confirmation emails to purchasers? They're buying digital goods, and they'll need to be able to get to the downloads page, perhaps at a different time to when they actually purchase the items. Or is all this covered by making them register/login?

Thanks
Alistair

For digital goods, you should create a download center.

See out tutorials for this on the eCart support page:
"How to apply Register/Login functionality to your checkout page"
"How to create an Order History page"
"Creating a Download Center for selling Digital Goods"

you dont really need to rely on the email to get them to the download center page.
