Emailing to everyone in a MySQL Database

I have Data Bridge and have been accessing individuals that register on my site using GoDaddy's phpMyAdmin.

I've been reading info on your site about emailing, but find a lot of it confusing. I'd like to be able to create an email and then send it out to everyone in the database. I'm guessing that this is possible using Data Bridge, but I really need a step-by-step instruction on how to go about doing this.

Can you point me to such instructions?

there is not a tutorial specific to this, but it is possible to accomplish using a recordset and universal email.

Create a recordset on the page to return the users table.

add universal email, WebAssist -> Create Email Message.

in the universal email settings, click the To button to access the advanced To settings, add a new to address, and select to use a recordset Loop, select the recordset to use, and the email address column.

Great! It looks like I'm just going to have to type in several hundred email addresses because there isn't an actual manual for Data Bridge. I have no idea how one goes about creating a recordset... in fact I don't know what a "recordset" is... it's shop talk for stuff that I'm not familiar with. What's a users table? Again it's Greek to me. The line saying, "add universal email, WebAssist -> Create Email Message"... and on an on... No manual and no step-by-step, click-by-click instructions. I'm totally discouraged and totally depressed with all of this. You have a great product but it isn't any better than its documentation, with is pretty much non-existant. I don't dare to attempt this on my own because it'll just lead to me being even more depressed.

it sounds like you need to first become familiar with using Dreamweaver for Dynamic site Development.

I would suggest starting with the Database Starter Kit tutorial:
http://www.webassist.com/tutorials/Getting-started-with-MySQL-and-dynamic-websites

you say:
"have been accessing individuals that register on my site using GoDaddy's phpMyAdmin."

the table you getting the individuals information from PHPMyAdmin would be the users table to query in the recordset.

A reordset is a way of querying the database to return data. It should become more clear in working through the database starter kit.

there are other turorials available on the tutorial landing page:
have been accessing individuals that register on my site using GoDaddy's phpMyAdmin.

http://www.webassist.com/tutorials/

including this Universal Email getting started guide:
http://www.webassist.com/tutorials/Getting-Started-with-Universal-Email

you asked about a tutorial for a specific use case. we don't have one for the specific use case you ask about, but that does not mean there are not more general tutorials that help get you started.
