Can MySqli record be used on an page that Universal Emails sends after submitting the form?

I am trying to use a MySqli recordset on a page that gets email to a user after submitting the form. When I used the DW server behavior, the form is submitted and an the email page is sent to the user. When I try using the MySqli record I get the following errors:

Notice: Undefined variable: dbConnectSQLi in /services/webpages/b/u/ on line 21

Fatal error: Call to a member function Prepare() on a non-object in /services/webpages/b/u/ on line 166

Don't add the recordset on the email template page.

add the recordset to the page that you add the Universal Email behavior to.

then on the template page, set a global variable for the recordset name. so your recordset is named:

at line 1 of the template file add:
<?php global $rsBranch; ?>
