SagePay Form Integration - VPSProtocol

I am having certain issues with a client's SagePay service. I contacted SagePay this morning and explained that for starters, I am no longer able to simply create test transactions and that I am getting a 3098 error, which tells them that I am not using the latest VPSProtocol (3.0), currently of course, using the set provided ECart, the VPSProtocol is 2..23. They clearly state that, for testing, VPSProtocol 2.23 is no longer available and that also this version (VPSProtocol 2.23) as from July 2015 will no longer be available for live transactions either.

So, currently I am not able to carry out any updates to my client's sagePay checkout (testing).

Are you able to provide a workaround for this, or an update?

Thanks in advance

thanks for bringing this to our attention, we will look into what updates need to be made and get an update for eCart out to fix this.

in the mean time, one thing you may try is to edit the VPSProtocol element to change the version on the confirm page:

<input id="VPSProtocol" name="VPSProtocol" type="hidden" value="<?php echo("2.23"); ?>">

change that to:
<input id="VPSProtocol" name="VPSProtocol" type="hidden" value="<?php echo("3.00"); ?>">

probably won't be the only change that needs to be made, but it's worth a try.

Sadly, it appears it is not that simple. There seems to be a whole lot of other stuff kicking off here.

I'll need to troubleshoot directly, see the private message section.

As we did with the PayPal Express config, we are going to create out own php class to resolve this issue and roll that out to our clients instead.
