line break <br> appearing in unordered list in email?

line break <br> appearing in unordered list in email?

I have a Universal Email behavior using a standard template. There's an unordered list in the email is formatted as follows:

<ul>
<li>Item 1</li>
<li>Item 2</li>
<li>Item 3</li>
</ul>

However when the email is sent, an extra break is appearing after the bullet point. I copied the source code from the email that arrived and it looks like this:

<ul>
<li><br>Item 1</li>
<li><br>Item 2</li>
<li><br>Item 3</li>
</ul>

resulting in a very messy looking list! Any idea how I can prevent this?

on viewing source in the HTML Editor window, the code for the list is:

<ul>
<li>
The aeMadeeasy system is suitable for employers of any size.</li>
<li>
It is exclusively available through Peak accountancy firms and has been developed in conjunction with Jargonfree Benefits™.</li>
<li>
aeMadeeasy manages and runs the process of auto-enrolment, employee communications and the required record keeping for employers.</li>
<li>
It is a cloud-based system that does not need to be installed locally.</li>
</ul>

with a line break after the <li> tags.

in the webassist/email/temaplates/Blank_6.php file that is the email body for this page, there is the following code to add the HTML Editor into the email body:

<td style="padding: 3px;"><?php echo(str_replace("\n","<BR />",(is_array($pval)?implode(", ",$pval):$pval))); ?></td>

this is converting new lines to <br> tags.

i removed the str_replace:
<td style="padding: 3px;"><?php echo((is_array($pval)?implode(", ",$pval):$pval)); ?></td>

to prevent the <br> tags being added to the list.

That's fixed it, thanks - I had to add in a bottom margin to the <p> style as well as it removed all the spacing between paragraphs, but working fine now!
