Improve Tutorials

There is not doubt that the WA products are very accomplished which is why I purchased several of them.

I feel that the tutorials could be more comprehensive and demonstrate how to use the products on their own and not just with other WA products.

E.g. I own Digital File Pro 1.1
I am looking to add an image upload as part of form I have already created. (Browse for image - choose resize image and place in database- all the things that Digital File Pro is designed to do- so great) So I look at the tutorials and the demonstration starts out fairly simple enough with a sample form etc but then the Solution Recipe adds into the tutorial another WA product Data Assist. Now it just so happens I have Data Assist but for my needs I just want to use the facilities of Digital File Pro to fulfil the function with my form and not have to create with Data Assist and go through all those changes just to add this functionality. I even went through

Why not just produce tutorials that show easily how the products can be used on their own and then by all means say that you can add even more functionality by utilising this WA product and demonstrate the added value by the combination of the two products.

I have used DF Pro as an example but I have also found the same with other product tutorials and Solution Recipes.

The benefits are that the easier it is to take full advantage of these great products and inevitably enhance their experience in the future by purchasing add-on products and features.

I hope this is of some benefit.

Regards,

Kirk

"choose resize image and place in database- all the things that Digital File Pro is designed to do-"

not exactly.... Digital file pro has no integration with a database, and the default dreamweaver database update server behaviors aren't flexible enough to accomodate an upload in most server languages.

For DFP v2 we moved to PHP only, and in that language it is actually possible to use the dreamweaver server behaviors with a few tricks, but still it is far easier to use DataAssist for database manipulation in general.

Thank you for the suggestion.
