Design template problems for readability

Two major problems. 1) On category and search results, some products have intro sections that are black or dark gray instead of white, so they don't show up against the black background. I am going through and manually resetting them to white, but then, of course, they're invisible in my view for editing. Why are some of them automatically set, and others not? b) Much more disturbing: I cannot seem to control the typefaces of text on my home page. When I click through to the WYSIWYG editor, it looks fine in my window, with layout and fonts and colors and sizes that work just fine. But when it uploads to the site, none of that translates. No matter what I do, it looks different, usually much worse in ugly typefaces, always in bold, difficult to read and amateur-looking. I cannot seem to make it look like it does in the WYSIWYG editor. Help!

How are you adding the intro sections? are you copying from word or another sWord processing Program.

can you give a link to your cafe commerce store and the admin login info, let me know one of the products that has the problem and i can try to find the cause.

for the home page, give an example of how you are truing to get it to look so i can troubleshoot that one also.
