Why are our shipping rates higher than our standard UPS rates?

Why are our shipping rates higher than our standard UPS rates?

Our storefront is configured with the UPS api to our UPS account in order to charge shipping. However, the cost of shipping that the site is charging our customers is as much as double what it actually costs us to send via our UPS account. Is this a Cafecommerce issue or UPS issue?

Thank you!

What is your site name?

Please give us the address of the site and a sample cart contents and address that we can use on the site to reproduce the problem. We will do that and compare to UPS so that we can analyze what is going wrong and we will look into it and find out what the issue is and try to get it resolved for you.

Update: Apologies: This was posting for PowerStore, not CafeCommerce. Feel free to delete and I'll post elsewhere.

Just the opposite question here. The cart shipping rates are lower than UPS rates. One example test showed a 10lb package off by $1.73. Cart still in testing and not public yet. See below for link. Thanks much for any insight.

Power Store uses 6 x 6 x 6 for the package dimensions, On the UPS site, you air using 10 x 10 x 10.

you can change that in the web assist/plugins/shopping_cart/calculate_shipping.php file.

change line 11:
$BoxSize = "6";

to:
$BoxSize = "10";

Thanks Jason. I had made a guess on what size he needed for his weights. I'll test further. Thank you.

Updated. I changed to 11", selected ground in UPS with 11 x 11 x 3 box and was off by $4+. Screen shot attached.
Thanks much.

the setting for 11 will be used for width, height and depth.

so your calculation for:
11 x 11 x 3

does not match what is being used by Power Store:
11 x 11 x 11
