TypeError: testURL has no properties.

I installed CSS Menu Writer 2.0.2, entered the serial number, got the 'green check mark' that the number was valid. Once CSS Menu Writer loaded, I got the error message

Error generating menu (wa.generate.getBodyHTML): TypeError: testURL has no properties.

I have been trying for 2 days to get Menu writer to work on the MAC (10.5.8) and CS3 (Dreamweaver 9).

I have tried

-new configuration fold (both when Dreamweaver was running and not running)
-deleted macfilecache.dat (before starting Dreamweaver)
-installed CSS Menu writer according to directions
-deleted and reinstalled without Dreamweaver running (also deleted macfilecache before starting Dreamweaver)
-deleted Configuration folder before reinstalling Css Menu Writer

Any thoughts? Many thanks. Mark

This is an Error that I have not encountered before.

Do you get this error when Menu Writer Loads? Or
during creating a menu?

Can you send a screen shot of the error occurring?

What is the full path to the Configuration folder you are deleting? can you go to the folder that contains the configuration folder, select it and use the Command + I Key combination to "Get Info" on the folder and post a screen shot of that?

Reply "TypeError: testURL has no properties"

Thank you Jason for your post.

The error occurs as CSS Menu Writer loads. I did click "OK" and tried to create a menu, but got the same error message.

Attached are the requested screen shots. Many thanks.

WHats the update on this?

I am getting same message. I only get it on a site I create with FTP settings etc. If I just "create a site" with no connection settings it works great...

Same error with cs 5.5

When I try to open or use this software it generate this error.
I have to time out the software or it just spins and spins.

Then if I click OK it lets me use the tool with a very long
processing cycle and crashes.

error this script has been running a very long time do you
want to continue over and over again.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the software with a clean
version of Dreamweaver as well.

dealing with these kinds of errors has taken up a ton of time.

happens if a testing server is not defined in your Dreamweaver Site Definition.

make sure to set a testing server in the Dreamweaver site definition.
