PayPal Express Checkout Success Page Refresh Issue

As this is the first time I have included an Express Checkout Button in an eCart site I am finding lots of little "foibles" :-)

On the pp_checkout_success.php page I include a clear cart and empty session variables statement after the closing html tag to ensure the cart is cleared after the page is loaded so that the cart is still displayed as the order confirmation but if the customer goes back into the site there are no items left in their cart. This logic works successfully on the checkout_success.php page which normal credit card transactions are sent to so there must be a page refresh when the pp_checkout_success.php loads but I am not sure where it is taking place or what is causing it.

So my question is how / why is the page refresh taking place ?

There is no page refresh on the pp_checkout_success page. This page does not refresh.

Are you saying the cart does not clear?

please post a copy of the page.

Jason,

what I am saying is that the cart is emptied when the page has loaded which it should not, which is what makes me think that the page is refreshing somehow maybe in communicating with PayPal ?

you can find the staging site here earlswood.i-cre8.com any purchases will be refunded as they go to my PayPal account not the client

If you want the page itself please open a ticket and I will gladly zip it up for you.

Dave had code in place to redirect the page to the https server if is was accessed using the http protocol.

We just needed to dd an exit; statement after the header redirect to fix the problem.
