Email Attachments

Hi:

I’m designing a Website that will allow users to send messages to the company. Does Universal Email allow for users to send attachments as well? And, if so, how do I design that?

Thank you for your attention.

there are 2 ways to attach files to an email

1) Dont use the file upload behavior and select the Submitted file option on the attachments tab of the UE behavior

2) Use the file upload behavior to save the file to the server. Then on the attachments tab of the UE behavior, select the enter value option.

Click the lightning bolt icon and expand the Uploaded Files binding group, select the Server Directory binding. Copy the code for the server directory binding, then select the Server file name binding. lastly, copy the server directory code in front of the server file name binding code.

Jason:

Thank you for your reply. I tried the first method you suggested but didn’t get the desired results. You can check that page at www.amarapura.salaroche.com > Contact Us. The email is sent and received correctly, but there’s no attachment at the receiving end. Just in case, attached is a copy of the page in question.

Any further suggestions?

Thank you for your attention.

in the webassist/email/waue_Contact_2.php file, there are no settings in the attachments section.

after setting the attachment in the UE wizard, it looks like you didn't up[load the webassist/email/waue_Contact_2.php file with the changes you made.

I just uploaded the entire email subfolder in the Webassist folder as well as the email page, but I still didn't get the attachment in my inbox.

I just sent a test email with an attachment, I added my email to the to list, and can see the attachment.

perhaps the file you are using in your testes is larger then the allowed upload limited on your server.

see this page for PHP server settings that can effect the allowed files size for uploads:

Curious thing: your email was dropped in my Spam folder, attachment and all… and sorry, but at the same time glad, to say that I was actually getting all the previous attachments. What I was and I’m still not getting is the paperclip symbol on the email list (really unimportant after all)

Everything looks fine now. Thank you for your valuable time and have a good one.
