testing server

how do I set up a testing server on a site that already exists and has a functioning remote server set up? I have followed the tutorial and am gettig a 404 error, also can't see new uploaded ecart pages to test them live.

in the DW set settings, you can set the testing server to use the remote server if you don't want to set up a local testing server.

the 404 error would mean that the URL Prefix is not correct.

I am making NEW order pages for 4 products and am testing them by putting them up there and then adjusting. They are not hooked to the navigation so no one else will see them. When finished testing them I will hook up the menu links so they are live for the customer. But my first attempt at uploading the page with the cart button has yielded a strange result: when I put the URL into my browser, it goes to the index (home) page. When we look at the server the correct page is there, but something in the code is redirecting it to the root. Can you tell me what is wrong?
