Browser Compatability

Hello, I have noticed that the PowerCMS has some serious browser compatibility issues. It used to be that it wouldn't work well in IE, now I am having issues in Firefox and Chrome as well. I have had the same issues on multiple computers/networks.

One of the main areas that is effected is the File Manager when you try to insert a picture or a file...it never seems to load - no matter how many times I refresh. In IE, when a link is inserted you can hit save to close the pop up and return to the CMS.

This has been the issue with the last two sites I have created with PowerCMS...if this is going to be the experience in the future, I gotta switch to another option :(

in the webassist/ folder, rename the ckeditor folder to ckeditor_bak

On this page:
download

click the button to launch CK Builder. Select to use the Full Preset, and the Kama Skin.

Copy the downloaded CKEditor folder to the webassist folder in your site.

from the ckeditor_back folder, copy the following three files:
ckeditor.php
ckeditor-php4.php
ckeditor-php5.php

and paste them in the new ckeditor folder.

you will need to clear the browsers cache to see the updates take effect.

Also, in the webasssist/kfm/index.php add the following code after the <head> tag:

<meta http-equiv="x-ua-compatible" content="IE=9" >

In the next upgrade to design extender, we plan to move away from CKEditor which is no longer being actively developed and changing over to CKFinder.

Thanks so much - that seemed to work. Is there an ETA on when the new release will be coming out by chance? Any chance it finally has an integration with Power Gallery? I had to move away from using Power Gallery due to the integration issues with PowerCMS and have ended up going with Stiva Gallery for my clients.

I don't have an ETA, we are currently working on an Upgrade to Data Bridge that should be released in the first quarter of 2015, after that we will probably be working on Design Extender.

We do not have plans of integrating Power Gallery, you can submit a feature request on the project suggestions page:
