reset the workspace layout:
go to Window -> Work Space layout -> Reset '<your layout name>'

and Delete the Dreamweaver Cache file from the users configuration folder:
http://www.webassist.com/tutorials/Common-installation-issues

Then uninstall Design Extender from the extension manager and install it again.

when you open DW, it should launch the WebAssist Installer, if the WA Installer does not launch automatically, open a PHP page to force it to run. when the WA Installer completes, make sure to restart DW.

did not solve it

Okay I fallow your instruction to the T, I did get the same error and I try to create a new Menu on a blank html page. Did not work ether.

my extension manager was up to date. So what I did was update my latest windows 7 update and updated acrobat reader.

then I Re started windows 7, Once I did this the menu started working correctly.

so my guess is after your instructions I just had to re start my system ..

I Just posted this Cuz might help somebody else..

thank
Jason

sounds like the users configuration may have become corrupted.

recreate the users configuration folder as outlined in step 12 of the Adobe troubleshooting guide:
http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/troubleshoot-javascript-errors-dreamweaver-cs4.html#main_user_config

after the configuration folder has been renamed, open DW to recreate it, then close DW.

Open the extension manger, and uninstall all extensions, then reinstall them.

Did this help? Tips are appreciated...

thanks for asking.
I move on to Word Press , I gave up on Dreamweaver , I only used it to maintain a few pages. Life is much easier with word press once you know how to navigate WP.
