Currently Supported Products?

Currently Supported Products?

I am a very recent WA customer--historically had used the ADDT. I am confused about what components in the suite are currently supported or constitute the core design path going forward. For example, should I be using HTML Editor or Power CMS? Is Security Assist no longer supported or at least not on the path going forward (security from MySQLi going forward)? There are numerous tutorials for historical products, so I can't ferret it out from that. Also, as I follow a thread on one of the products, I see that a product is being replaced by one in Data Bridge, for example, but when I follow the hyperlink describing the capability, it takes me back to the product that was supposedly being replaced (Security Assist in this instance). All of these capabilities still seem to be available in the Super Suite which I just licensed, but they may or may not be completely functional (HTML Editor for example has a GUI issue). Can you please guide me to the core components that are on your long term roadmap so that I can avoid investing time and effort in a side road that is not appropriate? I have searched the WA site, but cannot find anything that answers the question (or just confuses me more).

Thanks.

one area I see you are confused in is Data Bridge replacing products like Security Assist. What that means is that Security Assist is no longer offered as a stand alone product, but is built into Data Bridge. In Other words, you can no longer purchase Security Assist 2.0 on its own. To purchase the Security Assist functionality, you need to purchase Data Bridge.

Data Bridge is a package of what used to be stand alone extensions:

--CSS Button Styler
--CSS Form Builder
--DataAssist
--Digital File Pro
--Dynamic Connections
--Dynamic Dropdowns
--Dynamic Web Charts
--Form Toolkit
--HTML Editor
--Image Resizer
--SecurityAssist
--Universal Email
--Validation Tooltips for Spry

and Design Extender is also a package of what used to be stand alone extensions:
-- CSS Sculptor
-- CSS Menu Writer
-- Framework Builder
-- PowerCMS Builder
-- Pro Maps for Google
-- Site Import
-- Site Sculptor
-- Social Media Toolkit

Now, you ask about Power CMS replacing HTML Editor, this is not the case.

Power CMS is a tool that uses HTML editor, it creates a full CMS System, and part of that CMS System uses HTML Editor.

you can still use HTML Editor on its own though.

AS for MySQLI, we are in a transition period right now.

the original MySQL extensions where built on the groundwork of the Server Behaviors that where natively available in DW.

The MySQLi server behaviors is a recreation of this groundwork using the MySQLi library, using that ground work we will be upgrading the other extensions to also use MySQLi. we have already upgraded eCart for MySQLi, and plan to upgrade Data Bridge for MySQLi in the first quarter of 2015. then we will upgrade Design Extender.

It's not that the Authentication in MySQLi server behaviors replaces Security Assist, it is that it is a separate tool based on the native User Authentication tool that was available in DW.

Jason:
That helps--I failed to mention that I have been very impressed with the flexibility of WA tools in helping me deliver in a customer-centric way. I apologize for my confusion--the clarification helps. And, yes, I understand the intent behind MySQLi generally and now have a better understanding for how that plays into Security Assist applicability.

Thanks.
